Digital humanities provides an opportunity for innovative classroom assignments that meet the need for increasing focus on digital literacy and skillsets among students. In a class with a DH assignment, students learn to share their academic research in new ways, a skill which will benefit them whether they go on to grad school or the job market.
The library can support faculty interested in integrating DH into their teaching. We can meet with you to help brainstorm and design assignments, teach sessions in your classes on theory and practice of digital humanities, and meet one on one or in groups with students about DH coursework for extra support.
For professors, DH provides novel ways to practice in their field. Digital Humanities can be used both to innovate in data collection methods and in publicizing research to new audiences.
The library can support faculty throughout all stages of the research process in DH. We can help make a research or project plan, plan a grant application, provide web hosting for a website, training on a tool in our makerspace, or anything else that you may need.
